Transdev Mechanic in Atlanta, Georgia

Transit Mechanic needed Atlanta GA for Marta! $25.50 - $29.77/HR, up to $2.25 incentive pay hourly!

Transdev is seeking a technician for their transit service contract in Atlanta GA for MARTA. We are looking for qualified and experienced technicians to diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, with daily safety inspections, under general supervision. Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, is a technically skilled Maintenance Department employee capable of performing all service, troubleshooting, diagnostic tests, preventative maintenance inspection, and some technical repair to all transit vehicles and equipment with some supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to perform and execute all service, troubleshooting, diagnostic tests, preventative maintenance inspection, and some technical repair using manufacturer’s technical publications and company plans, schedules, and procedures.

  • Executes work assignments in accordance with job standards set forth by the Company.

  • Applies effective quality assurance practices in the performance of all work assignments to avoid repeat vehicle or equipment discrepancies and applies safe maintenance practices.

  • Proficient in operating shop tools and equipment.

  • Reports and is supervised by the Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Maintenance experience with all types of heavy-duty transit equipment

  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to read, interpret safety documents, blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams.

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including background and a drug test.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.

  • Frequently required to sit.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in a damp environment with moderate noise.

  • May be exposed to water, fumes, and chemicals.

  • 4-day work week and hourly wage from 25.50 -29.77 per hour with up to 2.25 incentive pay hourly.
