Transdev Utility Worker in Atlanta, Georgia

Overview:

Cleans and fuels buses under direct supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Washes exterior of vehicles using power washer and brushes; sweeps and removes trash from vehicles (10 vehicles per day)

  • Drives, maneuvers, and parks vehicles

  • Fuels buses, replenishes fluids, and logs and records all fluids used

  • Responsible for basic shop and housekeeping duties

  • Other duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the facility

  • Reports any maintenance issues to Supervisor

Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required

  • Must be 21 years or older

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience and a good driving record

Experience :

  • 1 year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Good oral communication skills

  • Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided

  • Ability to learn shop processes including fueling vehicles and cleaning vehicles

  • Ability to mix and use a variety of cleaning products

  • Ability to use a variety of equipment such as buffers, scrubbing machines, and other heavy cleaning equipment

  • Strong attention to details

  • Must have strong commitment to safety

  • Must be well organized

  • Must be able to work flexible hours

  • Must be able to work as a member of the team

  • Knowledge of shop safety standards

  • Must be self motivated and able to perform without constant or immediate supervision

  • General knowledge of Windows based computer operating system and Microsoft Office package

  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups

Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meetings
