The Operations Manager will be responsible for data entry, making sure collections are correct and driver accounts are paid, payroll, report entry, managing all departments, helping with organizational and program budgets in collaboration with the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • improve the operational systems processes and policies, but specifically support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning

  • Manage and increase effectiveness and efficiency of support services through improvements to each department as well as coordination and communicatio between deparrtments

  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence

  • Oversee the guidance of the GM with the overall financial management, planning, systems and controls

  • Management of budget in coordination with the GM

  • Help with individual program budgets

  • Payroll management, including tabulation of accrued employee benefits

  • organization of driver and car files

  • Attend regular meetings with GM around fiscal planning and goals

  • Supervise and coach office manager on a weekly basis

  • increase the effectiveness and efficiency of department through improvements to each departments as well as coordination and communication between functions

  • Drive initiatives in management team that contribute to long-term operational excellence

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor all receipts for the recording of all revenue transactions and recommend and implement improvement systems

  • oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization's financial performance against budget, financial, and operational goals

  • Managing day to day processing of accounts receivable and payable and then producing reports as requested

  • All other duties assigned per GM

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience :

  • 3 or more years of relevant transportation supervisory experience required

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transportation operation

  • Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transportation system’s staff and operational departments

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and relevant database programs

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details

Travel requirement (as a percent): <10% travel for occasional meetings and to observe scenes of serious vehicle accidents

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must submit to drug testing and a criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed and to be on call after hours for driver issues

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.

  • Frequently required to sit. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell. Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in environment with moderate noise.

  • Remaining work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer; time is spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer.
