Transdev Assistant Branch Manager in Dorchester, Massachusetts

Responsible for all operators, supervisors and dispatchers assigned to the facility. Provides all services safely and reliably.
Supervises day-to-day operations and administrative activities by providing liaison between client and company.
Facilitates problem solving between departments and resolve employee grievances.
Coordinate the scheduling for both operators and supervisors in the operations department.
Interact with the union representing the employees with the goal of positive interaction.
Monitor operations and coordinate the delivery of service with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
Ensure that service to the public remains on schedule and professional.
Authorityto issue discipline.
Assign employee’s duties as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Bachelor’s Degree preferable or any combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 year’s management experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of public management and organization theories, principles, practices and techniques.
Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments
Thorough knowledge of basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
Ability to analyze a variety of complex administrative problems to make sound recommendations for their solutions and to prepare working procedures
Ability to work effectively with labor
Familiar with Microsoft Office
Strong communications and time management skills
Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) <5%
