Transdev Operations Supervisor in Grand Junction, Colorado

The Operations Supervisor will assist the General Manager in the day-to-day management, customer interface, safety and security, maintenance, required reporting and compliance, as well as the administrative management. The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for the supervision of the Operations Department and also general staff duties. This position reports directly to the General Manager.
Supervises day-to-day operations and administrative activities by providing liaison between client and company.
Collects, analyzes and interprets key performance indicators and takes appropriate actions.
Leads the safety effort and adheres to safety policy and procedures.
Create and maintain strong relationships between the community and Transdev Services.
Agrees and demonstrates commitment to the company’s mission and core values.
Immediate responsibility for development of operational strategies, including the prompt resolution of any operational problems and/or passenger complaints.
Facilitates problem solving between departments and resolve employee grievances.
Coordinate the scheduling for both operators and supervisors in the operations department.
Interact with the union representing the employees with the goal of positive interaction.
Monitor operations and coordinate the delivery of service with the General Manager.
Ensure that service to the public remains on schedule and professional.
Assist in the development of schedules and driver run-cuts.
Oversees coordination of all employee and vehicle assignments.
Resolves operational problems, including passenger complaints.
Responsible for fixed route and paratransit service delivery.
Assures that all positions are fully filled with qualified personnel.
Answers calls from clients and schedule services
Maintains records, logs, and schedules of the calls received to schedule transit services, drivers dispatched, and customer cancellations or no-shows
Mailing schedules and Paratransit applications.
Screen and register clients for ADA service.
Schedule Paratransit trips per customer request in compliance with ADA laws
Responsible for organizing and coordinating employee promotional and team building activities
Preparation and submittal of accurate and timely paratransit and customer service reports
Serves as an emergency contact for drivers in the field
Coordinates communications between drivers and other supervisory, Risk Management, and Training/Safety personnel.
Coordinates with municipal, county and other agencies in emergency situations or in traffic-routing problems, detours, enhanced service requirements
Provides coordination of schedules and directs work of Dispatchers in absence of Manager; works closely with Manager to administer the Dispatch function
Documents and reports disciplinary issues to manager
Other duties as required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
A valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and airbrake endorsements required
Field and years of experience required: Two or more years of public transit experience required.
Experience preferred: Driving experience with Transdev preferred. Previous experience with radio dispatch preferred or road supervision preferred
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Ability to organize logical and efficient schedules and routes and adapt to changes
Knowledge of city street systems, peak traffic times and locations, and effects of weather on street conditions
Ability to read, comprehend and understand a map
Ability to read, understand, and interpret transit system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases and routes
Ability to assist handicapped passengers when needed
General knowledge of the methods of operating two-way communications equipment and proper radio procedures, and ability to communicate via radio or communications system
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to remain calm and organized in emergency and complex transit operation problems
Ability to use a multi-line phone system and handle multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be
able to work well with diverse groups
Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) <5%

Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
Majority of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
Majority of work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
