Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources performs a variety of human resources related duties at the corporate generalist level. This position must learn and understand the company organizational structure, personnel policy/procedure and the life cycle of an employee.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all pre-employment screening such as but not limited to drug testing and back ground verification.

  • Organize and manage the corporate employee new hire process including all onboarding and orientation.

  • Assist with the termination process, including completion of paperwork and collection of employee equipment.

  • Responsible for the completion of employee related paperwork, including, employee status changes, pay changes and other confidential employee data.

  • Responsible for the employee relocation process

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining HR intranet site, ensuring forms and letters are kept current and up to date on a routine basis.

  • Maintain an understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to HR. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.

  • Serve as back-up to the HR Generalist II with FMLA/ADA issues.

  • Maintains company organization charts.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree - in Human Resource Development, or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience :

  • 2+ years working in HR and understanding of broad area of HR activities

  • Thorough understanding of employment laws, regulations and HR best practices (Title VII, FSLA, ADA, Interactive Dialog, Leaves of Absence, STD/LTD, FMLA, USERRA, WC, etc.)

Experience preferred: ADP Enterprise

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, compliance and deadlines

  • Analytical ability to review data, process transactions,

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Motivated and collaborative individual who can work independently

  • Friendly demeanor with a positive attitude

Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) <10%

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Drug testing and background check

  • Testing related to job requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
