Transdev Marketing Sales Coordinator in New Orleans, Louisiana


Transdev seeks a dynamic, creative, skilled individual to join our New Orleans Marketing team as the Marketing and Sales Coordinator, as part of the services we provide to the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority. This position is responsible for the implementation of marketing activities and sales strategy to promote the RTA’s transit services, build ridership and loyalty, and improve how we inform and serve passengers. This includes executing all sales activity of the RTA and all other duties as assigned. This position works closely with multiple departments in New Orleans as well as with the Transdev Corporate Marketing and Communications team.


Marketing Sales:

  • Monitor and report to manager/ director on direct revenues generated through email marketing campaigns by linking them to mobile sales and e-commerce sales through data and click-thru tracking.

  • Identify employers and develop sales leads for the Employer Subsidy Program.

  • Assist with development of promotional and advertising materials.

  • Procure partners and sponsors for external campaigns.

  • Represent RTA at marketing/ promotional events.

  • Work with CVB, NOTMC and other tourism organizations to increase group sales of passes.

  • Evaluate existing fare options and increase customer access to the various fare media.

  • Seek new opportunities to grow sales by continually assessing the needs of customers.

In-House Sales:

  • Manage in-house sales: order inventory, manage token orders, manage, enforce and adhere to vendor policies.

  • Record and track weekly, quarterly and annual sales and submit reports to manager/ director.

  • Work directly with vendors to fulfill orders. Identify opportunities to attract new vendors.

  • Collect and record payments and track payment statuses for monies payable and submit to accounting.

Charter Sales:

  • Manage all aspects of Charter Sales including forms, policies, website page and all other advertising and promotional materials.

  • Record and track weekly, quarterly and annual sales and submit reports to manager/ director.

  • Collect and record payments and track payment statuses for monies payable and submit to accounting. Record payments on the check log and submit to accounting.

  • Manage Calendar of requested charters and submit charter logs to essential personnel.

  • Communicate with operations to ensure charter requests are in compliance and/or permissible.

  • Coordinate with SIS personnel and Run dispatchers to ensure charters are logged.

  • Process refunds as necessary.


  • Manage pass inventory, securing accurate reports from the fulfillment/ logistics vendor and ordering inventory as needed.

  • Record and track weekly, quarterly and annual sales and submit reports to manager/ director.

  • Troubleshoot customer issues and work with developers, providing feedback to developers to assist in User Interface enhancements.

  • Communicate with fulfillment and logistics vendor to resolve delayed shipments, wrongly shipped items and to generate fulfillment efficiency solutions.

  • Communicate with Payment Gateway vendor for support with any payment processing issues.

  • Provide updates and troubleshooting reports to Chief Information Officer for updates regarding the payment gateway.

  • Review batch settlements regularly to ensure that they are consistent with orders placed.

  • Manage pass replacement and refund forms and adhere to all policies.

Customer Service:

  • Perform customer service on all in-house Fare Media Sales: processing order forms, maintaining contracts, delivering fare to vendors, answer calls daily about fare pricing and availability.

  • Perform customer service on all e-commerce order: processing refunds, tracking shipments, troubleshooting UI issues, answering calls and emails daily about fare options.

  • Perform customer service on streetcar charters: processing charter request forms, collecting funds, maintaining contracts and waivers, answering calls and emails about charters.

Social Media Marketing:

  • Work with Manager/ Director and Digital Marketing Coordinator to develop and execute digital campaigns to increase followers and build relationships with customers.

  • Integrate sales offerings and create other opportunities to promote offerings through social media channels, working with the Digital Marketing Coordinator.

  • Help monitor and evaluate effectiveness of paid social ads.

Web and Mobile Sites

  • Ensure that all Sales and Marketing pages on the website are up to date and that all content and messaging serve our passengers and other stakeholders and build the RTA’s identity. Keep information current and send content updates to the Digital Marketing Coordinator as need.

Advertising Campaigns

  • Contribute to concepts and goals for advertising campaigns to build ridership and the RTA’s identity.

Passenger Newsletter

  • Contribute to concepts and write articles as needed working with marketing team and Digital Marketing Coordinator.

  • Seek opportunities to increase newsletter subscriptions and mail database.

Email Campaigns

  • Help execute targeted campaigns that promote the launch of new service lines and products (transit passes, mobile app, e-commerce portal, MyRTA, online and app rider tools, etc.).

  • Generate reports on revenues and app downloads generated through email marketing campaigns

  • Help our department capture customer emails from every possible contact point, including the Call Center, LISTEN, and other channels.

Brand Consistency

  • Maintain our brand voice for all aspects of the RTA’s digital presence ensuring consistency and high standards for visual style, tone, attitude, voice and overall quality.

  • Help department maintain a “Message Bible” of the strongest and best messaging for the RTA and its services, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support the department in planning and executing events, promotions and a variety of outreach activities in the city and community to engage with passengers and build ridership.

  • Work in communication with the Transit Operations’ Planning and Scheduling department, plus our Communications team, to understand and communicate routes and route changes, transit schedules, fares and fare increases to inform/promote services.

  • Perform other marketing duties as assigned by manager/ director.


Education and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field, entry level with 1-3 years experience in sales and/or marketing

  • Experience creating and executing sales presentations and managing projects.

  • Experience working with vendors and managing vendor accounts.

  • Experience working directly with accounting department to reconcile payables.

  • Experience in e-commerce sales and/or B2B or B2C sales.

  • Knowledge and understanding of sales/ marketing concepts, strategies and best practices

  • Experience with data analytics and managing excel spreadsheets

  • Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
