The Transportation Account Manager controls the daily operation of assigned transportation contract(s), in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with Company procedures.

The Transportation Account Manager holds overall responsibility for system performance in all functions of operation, including supervision of dispatchers, lead drivers/trainers, clerks, drivers and contract administration. When necessary and applicable, the Transportation Account Manager will also coordinate with personnel administration, Safety and Training and Payroll/Accounting.

The Transportation Account Manager also acts as a company liaison to passengers, clients and community members. The Transportation Account Manager is primarily responsible for on-time operating performance, ridership and client satisfaction.


  1. Ensure client satisfaction.

  2. Enforces policies and procedures of contract with all assigned personnel.

  3. Maintains Compass Transportation’s service standard and policy.

  4. Ensures the account is properly staffed.

  5. Ensures efficient communication between Operations and Dispatch.

  6. Maintains communication between General Manager and Operations when applicable and necessary.

  7. Conducts counseling of personnel and documents action taken.

  8. Ensures all re-occurring operator training.

  9. Create weekly driver and staff schedule.

  10. Perform administrative functions as needed.

  11. Develop invoice and submit to Accounting for processing.

  12. Assist in preparation and submission of weekly payroll.

  13. Performs any and all other projects as assigned by the General Manager or client.


  1. Prior experience as an account manager supervising a client/vendor account within the private transportation industry.

  2. Computer skills- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and basic data entry skills required.

  3. Routing and dispatch.
