Responsibilities

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the requirements set forth in federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, state, and local related procedures and ordinances.

Oversees the compliance of all operator and mechanic driver requirements associated with Transdev Services Inc’s Safety Policies and Procedures Manual, WebRisk compliance, and oversight of the protocols needed to maintain the highest levels of compliance in these areas.

Responsibility for the management, administration, maintenance, and monitoring of compliance and ensures all company locations and properties are in compliance with DOT-related federal, state, and local regulations, procedures, and ordinances.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Creates, maintains, and updates files and documents for all driver employee, maintenance, and bus cleaning staff.

  2. Manages, maintains, monitors, and updates all licensing credentials and certifications for all driver employee, maintenance, and bus cleaning staff.

  3. Prepares, compiles, and submits all required documentation to the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

  4. Directs, plans, and ensures the accurate and updated maintenance of driver requirements and documentation.

  5. Utilizes WebRisk to ensure employee credentials and certifications, and documentation are current.

  6. Ensures all company locations and properties are in compliance with DOT regulations [i.e.: driver qualification files, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.

  7. Provides assistance and support to the Safety Director with ad hoc and custom compliance reporting, testing schedules, and safety audits DOT, California Highway Patrol (CHP), and etc.

  8. Completes special projects as requested by the Safety and Training Department, Safety Director and Regional Safety Director.

  9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) within a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience :

  1. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related and relevant safety/risk administration and compliance experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:

  1. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to safety compliance and OSHA.

  2. Skill and competency to plan and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and work well independently with limited supervision.

  3. Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.

  4. Strong issue resolution and problem solving skills.

  5. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  6. Good working knowledge ofcompliance programs and applications (spreadsheets, Webrisk, License monitor, etc.) to ensure compliance.

  7. Proficiency and skill with iCloud/web-based online and computerized technologies, applications, and systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

  8. Ability and skill to work within various adversarial conditions and case scenarios.

  9. Ability and competency to effectively collaborate with others and excellent team building skills.

  10. Ability and strong willingness to travel and work within multiple locations, properties, and facilities including attendance of various meetings, internally and externally.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed; long hours may be required in cases of emergencies or natural disasters.

  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.

  • Some work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer where the employee is subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
