We are seeking ahands-onSenior Accountant to perform specialized accounting duties pertaining to the operations of the company. Functions including financial statement analysis and account reconciliations. Oversees accounts payable and handles receivable responsibilities.


Duties and responsibilities include:

Accounting area:

  1. General Ledger: Assist with GL accounting functions including financial statement analysis, and reconciliations; month end journal entry preparation.

  2. Maintain detailed spreadsheets for account analysis and month end processing purposes.

  3. Accounts Receivable: weekly charter billings and cash-out procedures; monthly contract billings; weekly payment/deposit processing

  4. Accounts Payable: oversees accounts payable process (vendor invoice matching, tracking, and processing; follow-up on missing documentation; weekly check process; maintain excel spreadsheets for invoice tracking). Backup for A/P Clerk when necessary


Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

  2. Minimum of six (6) + years of experience within accounting, including, but not limited to analysis, reporting, and financial statements.

  3. Experience with accounting/financial transactions, receivables, and payables. Accounting general ledger, journal entries, and posting exposure

  4. Experience with intercompany transactioins

  5. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of direct payroll administration and processing experience is highly desired.

  6. Experience and proficiency with Oracle Financials, JD Edwards, or comparable accounting system. Experience with payroll recordkeeping systems.

  7. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and skills including strong knowledge and competency with complex formulas, financial modeling, statistical manipulation, and spreadsheet design.

  8. Highly detail and technical oriented.

  9. Team player and get the work done attitude

  10. Must be able to multi-process and handle tight deadlines and changing priorities.

  11. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
