Maintenance Cleaner

Rate of Pay: $13.43 - $16.23

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives, maneuvers, and parks vehicles

• Performs semi-skilled custodial, grounds, and heavy manual work

• Washes exterior of vehicles using power washer and brushes; sweeps and removes trash from vehicles; cleans bus shelters

• Cleans interior of equipment

• Cleans shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities

• Reports any maintenance issues to supervisor

• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a minimum of one year of driving experience and a good driving record

• Must be eligible for and able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger endorsement within 90 days of hire

Experience:

• 1 year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Good oral communication skills

• Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions

• Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided

• Ability to learn shop processes

• Ability to use a variety of equipment such as buffers, scrubbing machines; and other heavy cleaning equipment

• Strong attention to details

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Must submit to drug testing, physical examination, and a criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.

• Frequently required to sit. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.

• Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.

• Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in a damp environment with moderate noise. May be exposed to water, fumes, and chemicals.
