Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting the Bus Operators with the transport of patrons of the Fulton County Senior Services. The position also monitors the passengers while utilizing our service. Candidate must be able to work dependably with integrity, compassion and great customer service. Service provided for Transdev is paratransit service in accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) as amended.

Must be capable of inspecting the bus in the event that the Operator is unable to do so. Candidate must be capable of operating the wheelchair lift to assist with passengers.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Possess an understanding of the training requirements for all classes of paratransit drivers.

  • Must be capable of communicating clearly at all times and in all situations and interacting with diverse groups of people in a sensitive and understanding manner.

  • Candidate must be capable of demonstrating sound judgment, and good communication (writing and speaking) skills.

  • Candidate must possess the ability to read and comprehend federal provisions, state and local laws, and contract provisions.

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

  • Familiarity with first aid, and other types of driver training is helpful.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Candidate will be subject to a background check
