Transdev Dispatch Assistants in Boston, Massachusetts

Overview

Dispatch assistants support dispatchers with various tasks in order to provide excellent service to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Taking and handling calls from riders seeking information about the status of late pickups

  • Taking and handling calls and messages form drivers to help with same-day issues

  • Reviewing requests from drivers to have no-shows approved, and following all MBTA procedures before approving no-shows, including: checking and comparing promised pickup times with actual vehicle arrival times; using GPS to verify that vehicles are at the correct pickup location; attempting to call riders to alert them that the vehicle is waiting; and documenting the approval in trip notes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Excellent communication skills in person and over the telephone

  • Ability to maintain amiable relations customers and other outside contacts

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Majority of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

  • Majority of work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
