Transdev Senior Manager, Operational Applications in Lombard, Illinois

About the Role: Serves as an integral member of the Operational Performance Team responsible for managing the training, implementation, and support of Transdev’s operational applications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the plan and oversee the implementation and roll out of Transdev Operational Applications to all locations in the U.S.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with senior leadership in other key departments (HR, Maintenance, Safety, Business Solutions, Data, and IT) to ensure a coordinated and strategic implementation.

  • Work with General Managers, Finance, Payroll, and Business Solutions to ensure payroll rules are accurate and reflect ongoing changes to union contracts.

  • Monitor systems implementation and usage.Strategically adjust plans and strategies to ensure locations are effectively using Transdev Operational Applications.

  • Manage and provide work direction for the Operations Applications Project Managers and Implementation specialists.

  • Provide operational insight and integration of applications to improve business processes and practices that improve performance and profitability at the locational level.

  • Analyze data from the operations systems to drive continual incremental improvement.

  • Serve as the operational liaison with Group to ensure upgrades and patches have gone through User acceptance testing prior to implementation; coordinate and track enhancements and development requests.

  • Ensure that sites understand and are trained in Transdev standard operating procedures and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot systems issues and coordinate with IT and Business Solutions.

  • Coordinate and consult with Human Resources and Legal to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices are followed.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.Relevant experience (6 years) managing people and complex projects considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience Required:

  • Two years or more years of experience in project management.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting business applications.

  • Four or more years of experience in public transit preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and resolve issues in a practical and pragmatic manner.

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision.

  • Proficient knowledge and skill required with Windows operating system and MS Office programs.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and PostGreSQL preferred.

  • Ability to manage direct staff reports, coordinate and assign schedules, oversee and critique work and provide direct supervision.

This position will require the ability to travel to various field locations.

  • This position will be based at our Lombard, IL Headquarters, however given the nature of extensive field support and related travel, the position’s base can be considered from alternative major metropolitan markets.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
