Transdev Maintenance Parts Supervisor in Phoenix, Arizona

TRANSDEV PHOENIX NOW HIRING FOR PARTS SUPERVISOR

LOCATION: 2225 W. LOWER BUCKEYE ROAD

Responsible for the materials function relating to the supervision, inventory, planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of parts/materials to meet company objectives and customer requirements in a unionized environment. Also responsible for warranty processing and collection functions.

These matters include but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Parts Manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing a 24/7 $1 million parts warehousing operation.

  • Maintain operations in a safe, clean, organized and reliable manner to fulfill contractual obligations and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Ensures use of appropriate safety/personal protection equipment.

  • Supervises all aspects of the Parts Warehouse and Warranty functions. Assigns work loads and coordinates major projects.

  • Ensures proper receipt, storage, security, and distribution of parts for a transit vehicle heavy maintenance operation.

  • Ensures proper input and quality of data entry into the Ron Turley & Associates (RTA) software program (or client-mandated software).

  • Ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained to facilitate appropriate maintenance. The optimum inventory turn ratio is 4.0 or more; these criteria may be modified based on fleet size, age of equipment, and/or contractual requirements. Identifies surplus for disposal.

  • Evaluates and discusses performance with employees, in both satisfactory areas and those that need improvement.

  • Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and personal and professional growth and identifies training requirements.

  • Supervises/coordinates biannual physical inventory and weekly cycle counts to assure that an accurate part inventory is maintained at all times and prepares reconciliations and various analyses as needed.

  • Supervises the processing of all parts and transit vehicle warranty claims, maintains warranty records and related collections and reports.

  • Conducts daily tailboard meetings with employees and participates in monthly all-hands meetings to ensure timely distribution of information and monitor contract performance, areas of concern, safety and client and employee issues.

  • Attending client meetings as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities/Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • College degree in materials management or business a plus but a combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • 3-5 years' proven experience in effective parts operations and personnel management in a strong Union environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of computerized inventory control, warehouse, management, purchasing, warranty administration and accounting preferred.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills essential.

  • Excellent proficiency with Word and Excel.

  • Familiarity with union contract administration, labor law, and transit operations highly desirable.

  • Valid Class D Arizona driver license and excellent motor vehicle record must be maintained.

  • Must be able to pass a drug test.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

  • An unjustified refusal to supply requested information or a falsification of information will result in the elimination of the applicant for consideration for employment.

  • Must provide a complete and verifiable employment history.Employment history must be verified with all employers listed on the application and must include the past 10 years of employment, when applicable.

  • Must sign a background release form.
