Transdev Quality Manager in Phoenix, Arizona

Overview

Quality managers aim to ensure that the product or service an organisation provides is fit for purpose, is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations.

As a quality manager you'll coordinate the activities required to meet these quality standards.

Your role is concerned with monitoring and advising on the performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards.

You will need to liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, you'll advise on changes and how to implement them and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and establish a company's quality procedures, standards and specifications.

  • Review customer requirements and make sure they are met.

  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

  • Set standards for quality as well as health and safety.

  • Make sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards.

  • Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.

  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.

  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports.

  • Review existing policies and make suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them.

  • Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements.

  • Assess the effectiveness of changes made.

  • Use relevant quality tools and make sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business.

  • Make sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications :

  • ISO certification experience is highly desired.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communication or related field required.

Experience :

  • Minimum of three years work experience in a similar or related field is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software applications, such as Vizio and Adobe Acrobat Pro, used in performance of job duties.

  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize and organize workload.

  • Demonstrated ability to think independently and bring insightful, critical challenge to the operation.

  • High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet principal accountabilities with limited direction and oversight; prioritize and organize work with limited supervision while still meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and process mapping skills, with knowledge of and experience in the application of policy and procedures standards and requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels.

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

  • Travel requirement outside of immediate area (25%).

  • Drug testing and background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
