Transdev Human Resources Assistant in Raleigh, North Carolina

Under the direction of the GoRaleigh Human Resources Manager, this position will perform a variety of human resources functions and duties.


  • Provides clerical support to the Human Resources Manager.

  • Responds to routine HR inquiries, such as assisting employees with benefits, payroll questions, or pulling various reports.

  • Responsible for maintaining active and terminated employee files and conducting annual audit of same.

  • Enters new hire data and employee life job status changes into the human resources information system (HRIS).

  • Enters pay increases on a regular basis into HRIS and completes corresponding profile change forms.

  • Maintains and updates all required forms dealing with but not limited to employment & wage verifications, unemployment claims, WOTC and subpoenas.

  • Manages recruiting process, conducting interviews and coordinating all pre-employment activities, such as: background checks, drug testing and DOT phsyicals, past employment verifications, extension of offer letter, etc.

  • Works closely with the Safety Manager and Training Specialist to coordinate onboarding and orientation of new employees.

  • Point of contact for corporate/field HR communication.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.

  • Assists with day to day HR operations.

  • Serves as back up to HR Manager.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.

Education Preferred:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related business field preferred

Experience Required:

  • One year of relevant office experience required.

Experience Preferred:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in human resources preferred.

  • ADP experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Knowledge of basic human resource practices, including human resource compliance and regulatory environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) <10%

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Drug testing and background check.

  • Testing related to job requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
