Under the general supervision of the Director of Budget & Finance, the Data Technicianis responsiblefortransit data collection projects, managing the multiple transit programs, monitoring route service changes and performing system updates.
Managing the collection, compilation, and organization of statistical data obtained through counts data or random data passenger counts and special projects; preparing and submitting information for annual reports
Coordinating with the various departments on the implementation of new and revised service in relation to the scheduling function. Evaluating schedules, conducting counts and recommending modifications
Coordinating with local and regional transit staff any necessary data updates to scheduling software as well as the schedule module for the trip planner
Monitoring and analyzing service performance using data from various software applications and other technology systems; leading the work group to identify problems and resolutions pertaining to the systems performance
Analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to identify trends and recognizing inefficiencies
Assisting with schedule updates in transit software, updating all sign codes and mapping, and any other future transit technology projects
Assisting in data compilation and integration into the transit system and other technology systems or projects
Developing queries and reports to facilitate trouble-shooting and problem resolution
Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Two years of relevant work experience
Ability to analyze financial and operational data, interpret reports and make effective decisions based on the information.
Ability to develop program objectives and work independently on several program objectives at once.
Financial Information Technology experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge Required By the Position:
Knowledge/experience of spreadsheets and word processing.
Knowledge/experience in using organizational and time management practices.
Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
Skilled in problems solving and decision making.
Skilled in multi-tasking.
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.

Ability to operate a computer keyboard and view a computer monitor screen
