Transdev is seeking a Maintenance Manager in location
Become a part of the Transdev team as a Maintenance Manager in theLocationmetro area. This position will oversee all activities of the Maintenance department, including the maintenance and repair of buses, other vehicles be responsible for developing, communicating, and enforcing safety policies and procedures at the transit location in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Transdev policies.

Job Summary:
Directly supervises the mechanics and service personnel, monitors outside contract laborers; schedules the repairs and maintenance of a wide variety of light to Medium powered equipment.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
Evaluates the performance of employees
Facilitates and schedules training of new employees
Monitors absences/PTO usage; verifies and authorizes time sheets for payroll purposes
Schedules major and minor repairs
Creates work orders for repairs to buses, reviews past work orders for repairs and reviews and closes current work orders
Assigns work to mechanics based on work required
Makes on-the-spot decisions regarding repairs; and, at times, makes on-the-spot repairs
Consults with mechanics on diagnosis and procedures for repair and assists with technical questions
Generates tracking sheets to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner
Monitors work for quality and quantity
Works with Parts personnel to obtain the correct replacement parts
Decides which busses to pull-out or swap-out
Lists and schedules the buses ready for preventative maintenance
Schedules the buses listed for preventative maintenance when working the swing shift
Supervises mechanics, investigates, provides information, and assists in administering decisions concerning employee discipline
Tracks and analyzes data for various reports
Reviews work orders for accuracy
Monitors the status of down/out-of-service equipment and issues a daily report
Collects oil samples and sends them for analysis
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School diploma, or GED required.
Five (5) years progressive heavy duty fleet mechanical experience
Two (2) years of experience in supervisory capacity as a fleet mechanical supervisor preferred
Have a valid driver’s license in the state that you are applying to work in and ability to obtain CDL
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Must have a broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehicles
Must be familiar with the laws/regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilities
Must have strong organizational and labor relation skills
Thorough knowledge and understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation), FTA (Federal Transit Administration), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) rules and regulations
Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT physical examination, background check and drug test
Familiarity with all applicable safety rules, regulations and standards – OSHA, EPA, NIMS and ADA requirements
Strong written and oral communication skills, that include ability to explain and present regulations to others
Ability to travel (<5% of the time)
Physical Requirements:
Work may be accomplished in doors and in air conditioned in well-ventilated facilities or in open garage facility/outdoors, or on the fleet parking lot.
Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
May be required to lift up to 75 pounds
