Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the Parts Manager manages all aspects of the parts department, including ordering parts, maintaining proper inventory, maintain strict accounting of parts, issuing parts, communicating with vendors, conducting periodic inventory audits, and performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for managing Go Raleigh’s parts room and for the purchase of all parts, supplies and services necessary to support maintenance operations.

  • Works with Maintenance Shift Supervisors to plan and coordinate work schedules as well as sufficient and timely parts and material support of equipment and facility maintenance.

  • Designs and implements and inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures.

  • Analyzes different suppliers to obtain the best cost-effective deals.

  • Responsible for designing and implementing an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures.

  • Must be able to analyze different suppliers to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus and to eliminate shortages.

  • Documents daily deliveries and shipments to update inventory.

  • Assists with preparing annual operating budgets for the parts department as well as performing bi-annual audit reports on inventory.

  • Responsible for maintaining a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department and body shop.

  • Responsible for hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all parts department staff.

  • Advises and implements process improvements and reports findings to executive staff.

  • Prepares detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.

  • Must be able to expedite cars and parts that are for sale

  • Develops loss mitigation processes and protocols.

  • Addresses any problems, obstacles, and challenges.

  • Coordinates and directs multiple shifts

  • Forecasts future inventory requirements.

  • Tracks inventory maintenance using in-house software.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required :

  • Associates Degree in Business or equivalent of three (3) years experience in a Warehousing or parts related field.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred :

  • Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement preferred.

  • Forklift license or the ability to obtain in 90 days.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the acquisition, inventory and disbursement of parts and supplies utilizing modern storeroom and inventory practices.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to execute procurement, stocking, inventory control, and accounting plans,

  • Ability to manage parts and materials using both a computerized and manual backup management system.

  • Knowledge of FASTER NT, Fuel Master, computers, and the ability to learn computerized maintenance programs.

  • Knowledge of inventory monitoring practices.

  • Ability to identify, locate and procure a large variety of parts.

  • Ability to prepare and submit timely and accurate reports.

  • Ability to interact with vendors on a professional level.

Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meetings

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.

  • Frequently required to sit. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in a shop environment with moderate noise.
