Overview
Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, the Parts Clerk will physically check physically check stock locations, issues parts and tools to maintenance personnel, and correctly records data to ensure the Maintenance Department is able to maintain the bus fleet in safe operating condition and assists in satisfying the material needs of other internal and external customers as needs arise.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
Responsible for complete processing of all repair orders in the computer and filing of repair orders.
Maintains information regarding life history of all vehicles including daily fuel and oil usage, and major component serial numbers.
Organizes and assists with coordinating daily PMI schedule and Maintenance Repair Orders.
Responsible for the ordering of parts, issue of purchase orders, receiving of orders, stocking of orders, and the processing of invoices.
Ensure the cleanliness of the parts storage area, parts counter and parts receiving area.
Works with the Parts Manager to maintain inventory control of parts.
Performs biannual physical inventory and weekly cycle counts to assure that an accurate part inventory is maintained at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to utilize standard computer programs.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills required.
Some knowledge of parts and tools needed to repair diesel equipment preferred.
Valid state driver’s license
Knowledge Required By the Position:
Some computer knowledge necessary to perform daily tasks i.e., updating spreadsheets and providing information via Outlook.
Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
Skilled in problems solving and decision making.
Skilled in multi-tasking.
Must be able to research, gather and analyze information carefully
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Possess a forklift license or have the ability to obtain a forklift license within 90 day probationary period
Excellent phone communications skills
Demonstrated ability in working with standard office machines including, but not limited to, fax, copy machine, printers and label makers
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and be able to climb, push and pull parts and equipment.
Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and view a computer monitor screen.
