Safety Officer is responsible for maintaining significantly lower number of motor vehicle and other accidents and work related-injuries through the implementation of company and contract specific guidelines.
Communicates company and contract specific guidelines regarding Non-Emergency Medical Transportation to Company Staff and Subcontracted Transportation Providers
Audits transportation providers for unsafe behavior and breaks in regulations
Conducts evaluations and inspections to mitigate risk and minimize risk of loss potential
Ensures that the safety and security program is in compliance with Federal guidelines and that all employees and transportation providers are properly trained
Ensures that safety meetings are held on a regular basis and documentation of the meetings is properly administered
Coaches and motivates company staff and subcontracted transportation providers
Provides guidance and direction on Safety Training programs (Contract and Arkansas specific mandated programs)
Sharing information, suggestions, and observations with Project Manager to create consistency in safety standards throughout the entire company
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of Arkansas Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Guidelines
Knowledge of Federal transportation guidelines
Management/supervisor experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
